NHN 510 Series is a slimline closer incorporating the latest production technology. Available in a range of 3 sizes covering door weights up to 65kg.

1 body size simplifies template fixing, while the its slim body design is suitable for use on metal frame doors where fixing space is restricted.

A full selection of functions are available in each size whilst its slim aluminium body incorporates our well proven NHN dual speed control system.

Function

Speed Adjustment

  • There are two speeds; Door Closing Speed and Controlled Speed.
  • Each speed is controlled by its own regulating screw. Adjust the door closing speed with the No.1 speed regulating screw and the controlled speed with the No.2 speed regulating screw.
  • Turn clockwise to reduce speed and counter -clockwise to increase speed.

  • If the door opens clockwise, it is a right hand door.
  • If the door open counterclockwise, it is a left hand door.
  • Use this diagram to determine the handing of your door.

  • The position indicated by figure ‘A’ is the standard position of the eccentric show. By turning the shoe 180° to the position shown in figure ‘B’, the door closing force increases about 25% just before the door closes (during the last 10deg).

 


Adjustment of Hold-Open Angle

  • NHN 510 Series door closer is equipped with a serration type hold-open device which allows the door to be kept open at any angle between 80° and 135° with the regular closer with the parallel closer between 80° and 170°. The hold-open angle can be adjusted in 6 steps to 120°.

  • Open the door to the angle you want the door to stay open at. Tighten the clamp bolt (M8 hex.) on top of the stop joint with a spanner. Make sure that the serration’s on the arm and on the bushing engage snugly.

  • The door hold-open is factory adjusted to the optimum level. To re-adjust it, take the following steps as shown.

  • This is the standard application where the doors closer is fitted to the door on the opening face and is generally used for internal doors. The closer is fully reversible.

Standard Arm with Hold Open

  • For use in similar location to the standard arm, the hold open arm is fitted with a unique cam device which is easily adjustable to allow the door to be held open in any position up to 135°. It can be engaged or disengaged with little effort.
  • When needed, a fusible link can be used in conjunction with the hold open device. It is easily installed and is used on fire doors to retard the spread of fire and smoke.

Parallel Arm (Standard)

  • The parallel arm application if fitted to the closing face of the door and can be used when top jamb application is impractical or a drop plate is not suitable.
  • Parallel arm application should also be used when the reveal is deeper than 70mm (2 3/4″) or where the closer arm is required not to project into the room.
